Recipe
| Ingredients | 500 g Bread Mix | 1 kg Bread Mix |
|---|---|---|
| Banana Bread Mix | 500 g | 1 kg |
| Water | 165 ml | 330 ml |
| Vegetable Oil | 65 ml | 130 ml |
| Ripe Bananas (Mashed) | 250 g | 500 g |
Baking Instructions
-
Prepare: Preheat your oven to 170°C. Lightly grease and line your loaf tins with baking paper.
-
Mash: Place the ripe bananas into a mixing bowl. Using a flat beater attachment, beat until a smooth pulp forms.
-
Combine: Add the Banana Bread Mix, water and vegetable oil to the mashed bananas.
-
Mix: Mix on low speed for approximately 1 minute until the ingredients begin to combine. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
-
Beat: Continue mixing on low speed until the batter is smooth and well combined.
-
Fill: Divide the batter evenly between your prepared loaf tins, taking care not to overfill them. Leave enough room for the banana bread to rise during baking.
-
Bake: Bake at 160–180°C for approximately 40–50 minutes, or until fully baked.
-
Cool & Enjoy: Allow the banana bread to cool slightly in the tin before transferring it to a cooling rack. Serve as is or enjoy with a little butter.
Approximate Yield
| 500 g Bread Mix | 1 kg Bread Mix | |
|---|---|---|
| Total Batter | ±975 g | ±1.95 kg |
| Approximate Yield | 1 Large Loaf | 2 Medium Loaves |
Yields are approximate and will depend on the size and depth of your loaf tins. Take care not to overfill your tins, as the batter will rise during baking.
Baking Tip: For the best flavour and a naturally moist texture, use very ripe bananas with brown spots on their skins. The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavourful your banana bread will be. For a delicious variation, fold in chopped walnuts, pecan nuts or chocolate chips before baking.
Please note: Baking times may vary depending on your oven and the size of your loaf tins. Insert a skewer into the centre of the banana bread to check if it is fully baked.
